The May rally was held at Northern Bear outside of Twas City, MI. We attended a play at the Twas Bay Playhouse The Subject Was Roses. We had pizza around the fire and sampled local fresh fish at restaurants. Others took a road trip to see the Lumberman's monument in the Huron-Manistee Forest.
This year's FMCA Great Lakes Area rally, One Giant Leap for Glamarama, was held at the Darke County Fairgrounds, in Greenville, OH. There were four nights of camping, three nights of entertainment, card bingo, morning coffee & donuts, Saturday morning breakfast, picnic lunch, vendors, seminars, games, crafts and chapter activities.
The July rally at the Lakeside Resort Campground in Ionia, Michigan featured a Thursday night concert on the Flat River in Lowell, MI, a county free fair in Ionia, and a nice dinner at Lynda's restaurant nearby. Trivia and card games were played and a good time was had by all.
We had a great weekend even with a light rain. We toured the Thumb Octagon Barn and Agricultural Museum and had a great lunch at Nick's in Gagetown. Some of us went to a local Amish store and went to see the Sanilac Petroglyphs near Cass City.
We had great weather for fires and our Chapter meeting. We went into Marshall, MI for a magic show and some members toured the Honolulu House Museum. The highlight of the weekend was attending a dinner theater to see Million Dollar Quartet at Cornewell's Dinner Theatre.
We started the year off right at PERRY'S "LUCKY 13", FMCA’s 2023 winter international convention, with 4 days of everything RVing – education, shopping, entertainment, camaraderie.
The May rally was held at historic Sauder Village, a living settlement with living portrayals ranging from the early 1800s to the 1920s with a theater, grocery store, soda fountain, livery, bank, fire station, car dealership, barbershop, and free train ride. Thanks to our rally hosts, Kathy & Don DuCharme, for another great rally..
This year's FMCA Great Lakes Area rally, Wright on Target in Ohio, was held at the Darke County Fairgrounds, in Greenville, OH. The July rally at the Elkhart Campground in Elkhart, Indiana featured a tour of the Renegade RV factory, a visit to the RV Museum and Hall of Fame, dinner at the Cuhbby Trout, and a catered meal at the campground with fun and games afterwards. We had 14 rigs registered with attendees from across Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario. In spite of a couple brief rain showers, the weather cooperated and a great time was had by all. Thanks to our rally hosts, Michele & Brian Hoxie, for an excellent rally!!
We had a great weekend with seven rigs at the Little Creek Casino Resort; the #1 Manistee area Casino. The weekend included fire circle get together, potluck dinner, and a Manistee harbor boat cruise.
The Coldwater rally included three nights stay at the Branch County Fairgrounds with full hook-ups, a trip to the Cord - Auburn - Duesenberg Museum in Auburn (IN), dinner at Bill's Steakhouse in Branson (MI), and a catered meal at the campground. A small but engaging group of Knights spent a lovely weekend at Greenwood Acres Family Campground on Goose Lake in Jackson County. We visited the historic Michigan State Prison in Jackson; Michigan's first state prison and at one time the largest prison in the world. We also conducted a chapter business meeting, enjoyed two excellent meals, and visited The Parlour of Jackson. The iconic Parlour opened in 1915, is decorated period specific, and is known for the largest servings of hand-dipped ice cream in Michigan.
